Nothing. There is no sign-up, no user id, no analytics SDK and no crash reporter. We operate no server that receives data from the app, so there is no database anywhere with anything of yours in it. This is the same on the free plan and on Umbral Pro.
All of it, and it is never copied off the device:
Deleting Umbral removes all of it. There is no copy for us to delete on your behalf.
Umbral is a reader, so it has to fetch things. Every request goes straight from your iPhone to the publisher — nothing is proxied through us, and no request carries any identifier for you:
Umbral/<version> (iOS; +this website). Several of them require a descriptive
User-Agent with a way to be contacted, which is why it names this page.sources.json — the list of feeds, so a broken
source can be fixed without an App Store release. It is a static file on GitLab Pages; the request
contains no information about you, and we keep no logs of our own.What those publishers do with an ordinary web request is governed by their own privacy policies, not this one.
The relevance scoring uses Apple's Natural Language framework, and the written note uses Apple Intelligence, on devices that have it. Both run on your iPhone. Story text is not sent to us, to Apple, or to anyone else in order to be scored or summarised.
Your daily briefing is scheduled locally by the app. There is no push server, so no notification ever travels through anyone's infrastructure to reach you.
Umbral Pro is an auto-renewing subscription sold through Apple. The transaction is handled entirely by Apple, and we never see your name, your payment details or your Apple Account. The app reads only whether a valid subscription exists, from Apple's signed on-device receipt.
There is none, on either plan, and no advertising or tracking SDK is present in the app.
Umbral is a technology news reader, not directed to children, and it does not knowingly collect data from anyone — children included.

Umbral es un lector, así que tiene que descargar cosas. Cada petición va directa desde tu iPhone al editor —nada pasa por nosotros— y ninguna lleva un identificador tuyo:

descriptivo con una forma de contacto: por eso nombra esta página.sources.json — la lista de feeds, de modo que una
fuente rota se pueda arreglar sin publicar una versión nueva. Es un fichero estático en GitLab
Pages; la petición no contiene información sobre ti y nosotros no guardamos registros propios.Lo que esos editores hagan con una petición web normal se rige por sus propias políticas de privacidad, no por esta.
La puntuación de relevancia usa el framework Natural Language de Apple, y la nota escrita usa Apple Intelligence en los dispositivos que la tienen. Ambas se ejecutan en tu iPhone. El texto de las noticias no se nos envía, ni a Apple, ni a nadie más para puntuarlo o resumirlo.

Umbral Pro es una suscripción de renovación automática vendida a través de Apple. La transacción la gestiona Apple por completo y nunca vemos tu nombre, tus datos de pago ni tu cuenta de Apple. La app solo consulta si existe una suscripción válida, en el recibo firmado que Apple guarda en el dispositivo.
No hay, en ninguno de los dos planes, y la app no incluye ningún SDK de publicidad o rastreo.
Umbral es un lector de noticias de tecnología, no está dirigido a menores y no recopila conscientemente datos de nadie, menores incluidos.
Si esta política cambia, la versión actualizada se publicará aquí con una nueva fecha de «Última actualización».
